Severe Weather Procedures

Severe Weather Procedures

The Superintendent’s office continuously monitors the Civil Defense radio frequency and alerts each school in the event of approaching severe weather.

If students are in school when a tornado watch (meaning the possibility of a tornado exists) or thun- derstorm warning is issued, students will remain in session until the regular dismissal time.

If students are in school when a tornado warning is issued, students will remain in school, taking shelter in designated areas.

Parents, legal guardians, or predetermined individuals may pick up students at school during any severe weather warning.

Please do not call school during severe weather warnings unless you have a particularly serious problem. It is important that school lines remain open.

Announcements will be made on local radio and television stations regarding school cancellations.

Thank you Miranda Lane, Parkview Team 21 director, for sharing these beautiful pics and the story of these students wanting to bring a sunflower to Jessica (their Team 21 teacher). To hear how proud they are of their garden makes us so happy. We are looking forward to harvesting with HOPE Gardens next week! 💜🌻#BetterTogetherWPS #WyomingWolves See MoreSee Less
