Severe Weather Procedures

Severe Weather Procedures

The Superintendent’s office continuously monitors the Civil Defense radio frequency and alerts each school in the event of approaching severe weather.

If students are in school when a tornado watch (meaning the possibility of a tornado exists) or thun- derstorm warning is issued, students will remain in session until the regular dismissal time.

If students are in school when a tornado warning is issued, students will remain in school, taking shelter in designated areas.

Parents, legal guardians, or predetermined individuals may pick up students at school during any severe weather warning.

Please do not call school during severe weather warnings unless you have a particularly serious problem. It is important that school lines remain open.

Announcements will be made on local radio and television stations regarding school cancellations.

Wyoming Public Schools

Students from Miss Palomino's Current Events classes volunteered at Kids' Food Basket today. They started in the KFB garden and got to harvest cherry tomatoes, tomatillos, and green beans, then went back to KFB and bagged beef jerky to be put in tonight's sack suppers.

Students learned that KFB feeds 6,000 kids every day. They loved volunteering. It’s good to be exhausted from helping others! #BetterTogetherWPS #WyomingWolvesStudents from Miss Palomino's Current Events classes volunteered at Kids' Food Basket today.
